Vertical Ladle Preheater With Housing

MAPEKO has developed a direct thermal combustion process in order to burn hazardous gases that are produced during the heating/drying process. With this type of technology available, all environmental protection requirements are complied with and an improved working environment is created.

During the heating/drying of pitch- or resin -bonded refractory bricks, harmful gases are emitted from the lining due to the pyrolytic decomposition of organic binders. These harmful gases escape into the working environment through evaporation holes that can be found in the steel shell of the ladle. This causes, with the addition of significant health risks, serious pollution to the working environment. In the case of conventional ladle preheaters without the combustion process, these harmful gases are released unfiltered, through the exhaust, into the atmosphere.

MAPEKO has developed a thermal direct combustion method to burn these harmful gases during the heating/drying of pitch- or resin -bonded refractory bricks. With the help of added oxygen, these harmful gases are combusted inside the ladle and do not enter the environment. The ladle is completely surrounded with a tight housing. The gases that escape through the evaporation holes are sucked back into the ladle for combustion by means of a special process.

According to the official measurements, carried out by DEKRA, all hazardous components are almost completely burned.
The unique thermal direct combustion system guarantees a permanent and constant efficient incineration of hazardous constituents. High energy savings can be achieved, as reheated exhaust gases are used for post-combustion purposes.
